About The Position

University Home Care Inc is seeking a highly experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as Director of Nursing (DON) for our home health and or hospice services in Livonia, MI. This leadership role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in managing nursing teams and ensuring the highest standard of patient care within home health and hospice settings. Please note, candidates must have relevant experience as a DON in either home health or hospice for at least one year; if you do not meet this requirement, please do not apply.

Requirements

• Current and valid RN license in the state of Michigan.
• At least one year of experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) in home health or hospice nursing.
• Extensive experience in home health and hospice nursing, with proven leadership capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to home health and hospice care.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop nursing staff effectively.
• Proficiency in healthcare software and electronic medical records (EMR).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight to the nursing staff in the delivery of home health and or hospice care.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations and standards.
• Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Coordinate patient care plans and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Supervise staff performance, provide education, and promote professional development.
• Oversee quality assurance and improvement initiatives to maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance.
• Manage scheduling and staffing to ensure adequate coverage and patient care needs are met.
