About The Position

Lead clinical care at Thorne Crest. This role involves overseeing the daily clinical and administrative operations of the nursing department, leading nursing staff and nurse managers in delivering high-quality resident care, and developing and implementing nursing policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives. The Director of Nursing will manage staffing levels, performance management, training, delegation, and staff development, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. This position also involves monitoring the quality of care, collaborating with various healthcare professionals and stakeholders, managing department resources and budget, and supporting residents' overall well-being. Direct resident care may be provided during emergencies, and maintaining readiness for inspections is crucial.

Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state(s) in which you practice
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in nursing
  • At least 1 year of experience in gerontological nursing, rehabilitative, and restorative clinical practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of nursing and medical practices, regulations, and guidelines related to skilled nursing facilities
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to effectively communicate with residents, families, staff, and other customers

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
  • 2+ years of experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
  • Experience in healthcare management and operations, quality management, staff development, and resident and family support

Responsibilities
