About The Position

Epworth Villa is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to provide leadership and oversight for nursing services within our long-term care and skilled nursing community. This is a key clinical leadership role responsible for nursing operations, resident outcomes, regulatory compliance, staffing, quality improvement, and the development and performance of our nursing team. We are looking for an experienced nursing leader who can balance excellent resident care with strong team leadership and operational accountability.

Requirements

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Oklahoma.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and three (3) to four (4) years of related nursing experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Nursing leadership or management experience.
  • Long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatric nursing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical operations, resident care, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop nursing teams, manage staffing, and improve clinical outcomes.
  • Strong communication, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of long-term care or skilled nursing experience.
  • Prior experience as a Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or comparable nursing leadership role.
  • Experience with state and federal regulatory surveys, plans of correction, and ongoing survey readiness.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI), infection prevention and control, and clinical quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for long-term care and skilled nursing services.
  • Monitor resident outcomes and lead quality improvement efforts focused on safe, high-quality, person-centered care.
  • Build, coach, and develop nursing leaders and team members while maintaining clear expectations for performance, competency, and resident care.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and survey readiness and lead nursing responses to surveys, plans of correction, and other regulatory matters.
  • Provide leadership for resident assessment, care planning, medication management, clinical documentation, changes in condition, and coordination of nursing care.
  • Ensure appropriate nursing staffing based on resident needs, census, and acuity while effectively managing overtime, agency utilization, and nursing resources.
  • Provide nursing leadership for QAPI, infection prevention and control, resident safety, and other clinical quality initiatives.
  • Partner with the Administrator, Medical Director, physicians, pharmacy, rehabilitation, interdisciplinary team, residents, and families to address clinical needs and support excellent resident care.
