About The Position

As Director of Nursing, you'll oversee the daily clinical and operational functions of the practice, ensuring the organization has the staffing, training, and regulatory infrastructure needed to support procedural volume and patient care. This leadership role combines team development, compliance oversight, quality improvement, and operational coordination in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of clinical experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Senior-level experience may be considered in place of multiple years of experience for this role.
  • Infection Preventionist certification preferred and must be maintained if obtained.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet-based applications.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff assigned to the entity and support a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Promote strong patient, employee, and physician relationships throughout the organization.
  • Support employee and physician satisfaction initiatives and survey participation.
  • Ensure staff maintain required licensure, certifications, competencies, and professional development requirements.
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and operational resources to meet procedural demands.
  • Implement and oversee employee orientation, training, competency validation, and ongoing performance evaluation programs.
  • Identify opportunities for additional staff education, consultation, and skill development.
  • Build operational knowledge through collaboration with internal and external professional resources.
  • Review complaints and conduct root-cause analyses to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and monitor trends.
  • Ensure completion and submission of required daily, quarterly, annual, and QAPI reports.
  • Maintain compliance with CMS State Operations Manual (SOM), Joint Commission, company, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in required training programs and in-service education.
  • Oversee Life Safety, Radiation Safety, and Infection Control programs for the surgery center.
  • Ensure required logs, binders, inspections, surveillance activities, and documentation remain current.
  • Develop and maintain safety and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate safety meetings, drills, and educational programs for staff.
  • Monitor compliance with established safety, radiation, and infection prevention standards.
  • Delegate and oversee surveillance and monitoring activities to ensure effective implementation.
  • Complete annual competencies related to safety and infection control monitoring.
  • Ensure applicable staff and visitors utilize required radiation monitoring equipment.
  • Monitor work email communications throughout the workday.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
