About The Position
Director of Nursing Services at Marlborough Hills Rehab! As a Director of Nursing Services, you will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of our Nursing Services Department, ensuring that our residents receive top-notch care in a safe and efficient manner. Marlborough Hills is an 186-bed skilled nursing facility with a large SUDS population.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, college, or university, B.S.N. preferred.
- Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
- CPR certified.
- Certification in Gerontology preferred.
- At least one year of additional education or experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing and one year of nursing administration.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Ability to make independent decisions and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
Nice To Haves
- B.S.N. preferred.
- Certification in Gerontology preferred.
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, according to state and federal guidelines and scope of patient care.
- Maintain and review clinical policies and procedures, and develop new ones as needed.
- Develop and implement a nursing service organization structure.
- Determine the staffing needs of the nursing service department and make recommendations to the Administrator.
- Oversee licensed nursing staff and develop work assignments and schedules.
- Develop and maintain an on-call program for the nursing department.
- Conduct daily rounds of each nursing unit and review satisfaction of care and services with families and residents.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining the Infection Control Program and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
