About The Position

Helen Newberry Joy Hospital & Healthcare Center is seeking a full-time Director of Nursing for their Long Term Care facility. This role is responsible for the overall clinical operation of the hospital-based Long Term Care unit, including planning, organizing, and directing resident care services to ensure high quality of care, excellent customer service, and efficient operations. The Director provides leadership to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and nursing practice standards. This includes developing departmental policies, procedures, goals, and objectives, as well as providing effective staff management such as hiring, development, training, and performance feedback. The ideal candidate will align with the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values, and possess strong organizational skills, knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

RN licensure in good standing for the State of Michigan
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
3-5 years clinical nursing experience in an acute care or long term care facility
Ability to work with patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
Detail oriented
Excellent knowledge of and commitment to, the principles and practices of continuous quality improvement
Self motivated and able to work independently and as a team member in a fast paced environment
Philosophy consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree preferred
3-5 years of experience in a supervisory or administrative position is preferred
