The Impact You Will Have This position supports and helps execute the organization’s new Coupe sales goals, business development, and broker/consultant relationship management to win and retain business. This individual is accountable for leading teams that prospect and sell new Coupe business on acceptable financial terms, and for ensuring that the voice of the customer is represented to other areas of the Coupe operations such as operations, account management and IT. The position supports gaining executive endorsement for Coupe business and alignment with corporate objectives to secure new business opportunities across Large Group and National segments. This position will drive financial performance and growth to meet corporate goals in conjunction with their leadership. Influences a diverse set of contacts across functions and at all levels internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Accepting this position at Coupe requires signing an Employee Confidentiality, Intellectual Property Assignment and Restrictive Covenants Agreement as a condition of employment.
  • 7+ years of related professional experience, with 3+ years of management experience.
  • All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
  • Proven ability to be a people leader and be able to motivate and coach staff to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to lead, drive results and excel in a collaborative environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of health plan finance, underwriting and risk management.
  • Financial capabilities including ability to read, understand, interpret, and present complex financial options related to health insurance.
  • Superior oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to influence and negotiate with key large group and national clients, and brokers
  • Highly self-motivated with a track record of developing and executing strategic partner or agency sales plans.
  • Overnight travel as required.
  • High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Increase pipeline opportunities for Coupe and close sales across market segments by developing, directing, and driving the distribution and direct prospecting strategies in conjunction with their leadership.
  • Lead, motivate, and coach the sales team to deliver high performance and customer satisfaction
  • Support the training and market rollout with new BCBS partner plans
  • Develop and drive a relationship management plan with key strategic purchasing influencers to enhance market share and our reputation as an innovator and critical market player, while ensuring Coupe’s business objectives are met.
  • Challenge market financial assumptions, drive negotiation, and gain agreement from strategic partner agencies on Coupe’s economic value, resulting in an increased market position leading and higher close rate.
  • Develop, coordinate responses to fully qualified RFPs and present our proposed solution to demonstrate a differentiated competitive position beyond price.
  • Persuasively present proposals to strategic partner agencies and customers, reinforcing the value of Coupe’s approach that supports client objectives and needs.
  • Secure qualified opportunities for Coupe to propose its services, through a broker/consultant channel and/or directly to the prospect and lead an internal cross-functional group to secure a compelling proposal and to develop convincing sales presentation(s).
  • Provide education to strategic partner agencies on Coupe’s product, services and operational initiatives (e.g. claims management, account reporting, and member services) and serve as their Coupe Subject Matter Expert to enhance our relationship and increase Coupe’s brand loyalty.
  • Assist in the development of the broader strategic planning process.
  • Support the organization's participation in consultant sponsored programs, such as exchanges and clinical programs.
