Organizing Resilience (OR) coordinates national and local expertise to develop the tools, talent, and networks that will allow movement organizations, the philanthropic community, and government leaders to respond to the humanitarian and political crises that unfold during and after moments of disaster. By pre-building key aspects of disaster response and networks across regions and sectors before crises surface OR connects resources to on-the-ground leaders where they will have an immediate and lasting impact. Organizing Resilience is a sponsored project of the Amalgamated Charitable Foundation. As a member of Organizing Resilience’s New Organizing Team, the Director of National Leadership Programs is responsible for building the organizing capacity of the new disaster survivors organization and its leaders through training, leadership development of survivors, base building, and strategy creation. The Director should bring a deep understanding of transformative organizing, a commitment to building authentic member leadership, and a demonstrated ability to apply the understanding to develop meaningful and scalable training series, learning, and engagement opportunities. The ideal candidate is able to cultivate, develop and maintain deep and trusted relationships with survivor leaders from a diverse set of backgrounds and geographies.
