About The Position

Larkin Community Hospital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Medical-Surgical Services to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our Med Surg unit. The Director will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and staff development. This leadership role will play a critical part in achieving the hospital's strategic objectives and maintaining a culture of excellence in clinical care and safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in a Med Surg environment, with at least 1 year in a nursing leadership role.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage change, resolve conflicts, and promote team building.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the operations of the Medical-Surgical unit, ensuring high standards of nursing care and patient satisfaction.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care programs and quality initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, including labor, supplies, and equipment.
• Recruit, retain, and mentor nursing staff; provide leadership through coaching, performance evaluations, and development planning.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix to meet patient care needs.
• Participate in hospital committees and contribute to hospital-wide policy development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Analyze data to drive performance improvements and optimize patient outcomes.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
