About The Position

The Director of Medical Service provides strategic and operational leadership to the medical services team within a community mental health environment. This role ensures high-quality, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care is delivered across all clinical programs. The Director oversees staffing, compliance, clinical protocols, and interdisciplinary collaboration to support the on-going needs of CRCs consumers, staff, collaborators, and fiscal responsibility. . The Director plays a key role in workforce development, quality improvement, and aligning medica services practices with organizational goals and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in behavioral health or community-based settings.
  • At least 2–3 years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare or behavioral health environment.
  • Regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and keyboard.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of medical services teams across all clinical sites.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor clinical protocols and procedures to ensure safe, effective care.
  • Provides direct, and indirect consumer care daily.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of assigned staff.
  • Collaborate with behavioral health providers, case managers, and leadership to support care delivery.
  • Monitor and improve clinical quality metrics, documentation standards, and patient outcomes.
  • Manage inventory and administration of medications, including psychotropic and injectable treatments.
  • Respond to clinical emergencies and provide guidance on crisis intervention protocols.
  • Support health equity initiatives and culturally responsive care practices.
  • Participate in strategic planning and budgeting.
