About The Position

Innovative Renal Care (IRC) is seeking a Director of Market Development to serve as a strategic lead for regional growth initiatives. The Director is responsible for identifying and executing growth opportunities within the Midwest region through sophisticated strategic planning and clinical relationship management. As a key driver for the continued expansion of IRC, the Director focuses on increasing utilization across existing centers, promoting renal care services to health systems and physician practices, and supporting de novo development initiatives. This role requires a high degree of professional maturity and the ability to serve as a peer-level contact for nephrologists and healthcare executives, ensuring IRC remains the partner of choice in the renal care space.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in physician relationship management, physician liaison roles, or healthcare market development.
  • Prior experience within the dialysis or nephrology segment is highly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the full healthcare business development cycle, from initial prospecting and relationship development through contract execution.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain productive professional relationships with physicians, health systems, and community partners.
  • Superior written and verbal presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to exchange complex information accurately and professionally with medical specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the executive leadership team to align regional market development initiatives with organizational goals and potential healthcare partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated, long-term professional relationships with both affiliated and non-affiliated nephrologists to recognize and facilitate growth opportunities.
  • Prepare comprehensive feasibility reports, competitive demographic analyses, and Profit & Loss (P&L) forecasts to provide data-driven recommendations for expansion.
  • Partner with case managers, social workers, and discharge planners at local hospitals and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) to increase awareness of IRC clinical services and admission protocols.
  • Participate in national and regional renal meetings (e.g., ASN, RPA, NKF) and hospital association meetings to develop high-level leads and maintain a presence in the medical community.
  • Maintain close communication with regional and operational management to ensure the successful implementation of growth strategies and patient transition workflows.
  • Uphold and promote the mission and core values of Innovative Renal Care, ensuring clinical excellence and patient care guide all business development activities.
