About The Position

This role focuses heavily on driving revenue from luxury travel agencies, consortias, and special leisure hotel programs such as AMEX FHR and Chase Travel. This position requires high-level communication, strategic planning, and frequent guest/client contact professionally representing the resort. The Leisure Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue and maximizing market share from the leisure travel sector, including luxury travel agencies, consortia, wholesale markets, and online travel agencies (OTAs). This position requires a proactive, highly organized sales professional who can maintain existing luxury travel relationships while aggressively scouting new accounts. Subjective attributes include an exceptional polished presence, strong emotional intelligence, creative problem-solving skills, and a deep passion for luxury hospitality.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10+ years of sales experience in a luxury hotel or upscale resort environment, specifically within the travel industry/leisure segment.
  • Deep understanding of the luxury travel advisor landscape and consortia networks (e.g., Virtuoso, Amex FHR, Sabre/GDS systems).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS) and sales CRM tools (e.g., Delphi, Opera, Salesforce).
  • Ability to travel frequently for trade shows, sales missions, and client entertainment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an annual travel industry sales plan to achieve or exceed targeted room night and revenue goals.
  • Cultivate, maintain, and expand relationships with luxury travel advisors, wholesale partners, and consortia representatives through regular communication, sales trips, and site inspections.
  • Plan, coordinate, and host familiarization (FAM) trips and site visits for high-producing travel advisors to showcase the resort’s luxury offerings.
  • Represent the resort at major travel industry trade shows, roadshows, and networking events.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on market trends, competitor activities, and production data to optimize leisure pricing and package strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with Revenue Management and Reservations to manage inventory, rate parity, and promotional offers across all leisure distribution channels.
  • Coordinate VIP guest arrivals with Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, and VIP amenities teams to ensure seamless execution of advisor client requests.
