Director of Laboratory Services
About The Position
Directs all aspects of the clinical and anatomic pathology departments and their related services. Establishes policies, procedures, standards, objectives and staffing for the laboratory in conjunction with the laboratorys Medical Director. Maintains accreditation through compliance with NYSDOH and CAP regulations. Prepares the laboratorys annual budget and adheres to it through the oversite of expenditures and revenue. Mentors and instructs laboratory professionals and evaluates their performance. Coordinates with other hospital departments to optimize patient care. Adopts new technologies, as technically and financially appropriate, to improve revenue and expand testing capabilities. Requirements
- Bachelors degree in related field required, masters degree preferred.
- At least 5 years progressive leadership experience preferably in a clinical setting.
- Demonstrates leadership ability with excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional oral and writing skills
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to make a decision within organizational structure.
