About The Position

The Director of Lab is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all laboratory operations to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, and the implementation of innovative technologies to advance laboratory capabilities. The Director will lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes continuous improvement and professional development. They will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, maintaining accreditation and certifications. Ultimately, the Director of Lab drives the lab’s mission to deliver accurate, timely, and reliable results that support organizational goals and scientific advancement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline such as Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology.
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in laboratory management or leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and complex projects effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for laboratory operations aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Manage daily lab activities, including workflow optimization, quality control, and safety protocols.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate laboratory staff to promote professional growth and high performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, including OSHA, CLIA, and CAP.
  • Oversee budgeting, procurement, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research, development, and clinical initiatives.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain accuracy and reliability of lab results.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and innovation.
  • Prepare and present reports on laboratory performance, challenges, and opportunities to senior management.
