About The Position

The IT Director leads and manages the organization's IT functions. This includes oversight of the Help Desk , IT Systems Infrastructure , Cybersecurity , Full Stack Software Development, and Regulatory Compliance including CMMC and ITAR . The role is a mix of leadership, technical expertise, and business acumen used to support the organization's technology needs, secure data environments, ensure regulatory compliance, and to drive innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional IT teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of Windows/systems, networking, cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), virtualization, and DevOps practices.
  • Hands-on experience with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CMMC, ISO 27001) and modern threat mitigation.
  • Familiarity with access control, encryption, audit logging, and data protection mechanisms required under ITAR.
  • Familiarity with modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., JavaScript/Node.js, Python, .NETCORE, React/Angular, C#).
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other service management frameworks a plus.
  • Design and administration of IT Server infrastructure and architecture.
  • Experience with the development /compliance with System Security Plan (SSP) and Information Security Policy (ISP).
  • Experience with the development and execution of Cybersecurity Incident Response Plan, Disaster Recovery Plan, Business Recovery Plan.
  • Excellent project management and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong decision-making, organizational, and budgeting skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within CMMC , DFARS , or ITAR-regulated environments is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other service management frameworks a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy: Develop and execute the IT strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage IT teams across multiple disciplines: IT Administration, IT Support, IT Software Development
  • Establish IT policies, standards, and procedures that ensure operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and department heads to identify technology needs and deliver effective solutions.
  • Help Desk & User Support: Oversee day-to-day IT support operations, ensuring responsive, efficient, and high-quality technical support.
  • Implement KPIs and user satisfaction metrics to improve service delivery.
  • Manage asset tracking, hardware lifecycle, and IT procurement.
  • Systems & Infrastructure: Maintain robust and scalable infrastructure including servers, networks, storage, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Ensure uptime, performance, and reliability of core systems.
  • Oversee infrastructure upgrades, backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Cybersecurity and Compliance: Design and enforce cybersecurity strategies to protect organizational data and IT assets.
  • Lead efforts to achieve and maintain compliance with Level 2 CMMC / NIST 800-171 control requirements.
  • Ensure IT systems and practices meet ITAR control requirements, including access controls, data residency, and documentation.
  • Conduct regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and incident response exercises.
  • Ensure compliance with additional applicable standards (e.g., NIST 800-171, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
  • Software Development: Manage a team of full stack developers and oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications.
  • Ensure adherence to agile best practices, secure coding standards, and CI/CD processes.
  • Drive software innovation and integration with business systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, data analytics).
  • Evaluate employee performance by providing feedback, coaching, counseling, and progressive intervention (when necessary).
  • Complete the company’s annual Performance Appraisal process, (including defining achievable goals for the following year), for all direct reports within the development team.
  • Assist in determining staffing needs and initiate the hiring process.
  • Train employees and provide direction for training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure that the team members are staying current with changes in technology.
  • Ensure employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Implements and enforces policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for resolving issues within the team regarding the direction and approach for creating solutions to application issues.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulations.
  • Maintain a collaborative, respectful, and professional relationship with direct reports, managerial peers, ownership, and all other members of the PMD company as well as with supplier and customers.
