About The Position

Platinum Dermatology Partners is seeking an experienced Director of Information Technology (IT) to lead and evolve our technology infrastructure and operations across a multi-site dermatology management organization. This role requires a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in Microsoft technologies, Azure cloud platforms, and modern infrastructure design. The Director of IT will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining a secure, reliable, and scalable IT environment that supports both clinical and business operations while meeting regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably in healthcare or multi-site clinical operations.
  • Strong technical expertise with: • Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, O365, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams). • Azure Cloud Platform (IaaS, PaaS, security, identity, and governance). • Networking (firewalls, SD-WAN, VPN, load balancing). • Hybrid and colocation datacenter environments.
  • Certifications required/preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements (HIPAA, PCI, HITECH, SOC 2).
  • Proven ability to lead IT transformation and modernization initiatives.
  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence; able to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR/PM) platforms.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR).
  • Background in business continuity planning and disaster recovery.
  • Strong understanding of IT budgeting and CAPEX/OPEX frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the IT strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee hybrid IT operations, including on-premises infrastructure, cloud services, and colocation datacenters.
  • Drive modernization initiatives across infrastructure, networks, and enterprise systems.
  • Design and implement secure, resilient IT solutions that support business growth and clinical workflows.
  • Lead systems engineering, networking, and infrastructure initiatives, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for complex engineering and infrastructure challenges.
  • Ensure IT systems meet healthcare industry regulations including HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, and other applicable standards.
  • Implement robust security frameworks across networks, endpoints, and cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate with compliance and clinical leadership to support audits, assessments, and risk management.
  • Oversee IT operations, including service desk, networking, system administration, and cloud management.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Implement ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, and change management.
  • Lead and mentor a growing IT team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Partner with executives, clinicians, and business leaders to understand technology needs and deliver solutions.
