About The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for: Own IT and security strategy, aligned to business growth, risk, and compliance needs Lead and develop the existing IT support team, ensuring consistent, high-quality end-user support Establish standards for identity and access management, device management, and endpoint security Define and continuously improve security posture across systems, vendors, and workflows Partner with Engineering and Data leadership on infrastructure, access, and security alignment Own incident response processes and security escalation paths Manage vendor relationships and participate in tooling and vendor decisions across the technology organization, with a focus on security, access, operational risk, and responsible tool rationalization Develop and maintain security policies, controls, and documentation appropriate for a regulated environment Identify and mitigate operational and security risk as scale and complexity increase Plan future IT and security capacity as organizational needs evolve Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, or outcomes—not just following existing playbooks At TopDog Law, everyone is expected to think critically, communicate clearly, and take ownership of their work. How This Role Drives the Business As Director, IT & Security, you will own the strategy, operations, and evolution of TopDog Law’s IT and security capabilities. This role is responsible for ensuring the company’s technology environment is secure, reliable, and scalable while supporting the day-to-day needs of a growing organization. You will lead and develop an existing IT support function while defining the roadmap for corporate IT infrastructure, access management, device posture, and security practices. Partnering closely with Engineering, Data, Product, and business leaders, you will provide security and operational leadership across the technology organization. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends execution, judgment, and strategic direction as the organization continues to scale. Requirements

  • 8 or more years of experience in IT operations, infrastructure, or security leadership roles
  • Experience leading IT and security functions in growing organizations
  • Strong understanding of identity, access management, endpoint security, and infrastructure fundamentals
  • Experience operating in regulated or security-sensitive environments
  • Proven ability to balance security, usability, and operational efficiency
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with Engineering, Data, Product, and business teams
  • Ability to lead hands-on when needed while setting longer-term direction
  • Strong communication skills and sound judgment in high-stakes or incident-driven situations
  • Strong communication skills—written and verbal
  • Ability to think critically, prioritize effectively, and execute with speed
