About The Position

Volvo Autonomous Solutions (VAS) is seeking a strategic, business-oriented technology leader to serve as the Director of IT & Innovation for our US Highway Solutions business. This role will lead the organization's technology, cybersecurity, supplier management, and digital operations agenda, ensuring technology investments and services enable business growth, operational excellence, and innovation. As the senior IT leader for the business, you will act as the primary bridge between business stakeholders, technology partners, Volvo Group Digital & IT, and external service providers. You will establish strategic direction while also driving operational execution across IT service delivery, information security, governance, compliance, and supplier performance. This position requires a leader who can balance strategic thinking with practical execution, influence without formal authority, and create alignment across a diverse set of stakeholders in a rapidly evolving autonomous transportation environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience.
  • Experience leading enterprise technology operations, service delivery, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of modern IT environments, including: Cloud platforms and infrastructure, Digital Workplace technologies, Identity and Access Management, Cybersecurity and risk management, IT Service Management (ITSM), Enterprise applications and vendor management.
  • Experience managing outsourced services and multi-vendor ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and operational risk management.
  • Experience with ISO 27001 or similar security frameworks.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within transportation, logistics, mobility, fleet operations, or connected vehicle environments.
  • Knowledge of telematics, transportation management systems (TMS), or fleet technologies.
  • Exposure to autonomous transportation, mobility technology, or emerging transportation services.
  • Experience supporting global organizations and cross-cultural teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior technology leader for VAS US Highway Solutions.
  • Develop and execute the IT vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify technology opportunities that drive growth, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.
  • Translate business priorities into actionable technology initiatives and outcomes.
  • Own the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of business-critical IT services.
  • Oversee service delivery across Digital Workplace, infrastructure, cloud services, enterprise applications, and end-user support.
  • Establish operational governance processes and performance metrics.
  • Ensure services meet agreed service levels and business expectations.
  • Lead strategic relationships with external technology partners and suppliers.
  • Manage supplier performance, contractual obligations, service quality, and delivery accountability.
  • Chair governance forums and service review meetings.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation within supplier ecosystems.
  • Own the information security agenda for the business.
  • Ensure cybersecurity risks are proactively identified, assessed, and mitigated.
  • Lead vulnerability management, incident response coordination, security governance, and remediation activities.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a strong security posture across the organization.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Information Security Management System (ISMS).
  • Lead activities supporting ISO 27001 certification and compliance.
  • Ensure policies, controls, documentation, and supplier practices align with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Support audits and ensure timely resolution of findings and corrective actions.
  • Build trusted relationships with executives, business leaders, and operational teams.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for technology, operational, and supplier-related issues.
  • Facilitate collaboration between teams in the United States, Sweden, and broader Volvo Group organizations.
  • Communicate complex technology concepts in clear business terms.
