About The Position

BAM Capital is seeking a Director of Investor Relations to manage the entire investor lifecycle, from initial engagement to long-term relationship management, focusing on both retention and growth. This leadership role combines relationship management, operational efficiency, and commercial acumen, with direct accountability for investor outcomes and team development. While BAM Capital has an established investor base and a growing platform, the systems and processes to serve this base are still under development. This position will be responsible for building these missing elements and then owning them. The ideal candidate is adept at both strategic CRM framework development and handling sensitive investor conversations with care and sound judgment. They will implement rigorous processes, lead by example, and possess the skills to identify and manage critical investor interactions effectively. Reporting to the VP of Investor Relations, this role involves building and leading a high-accountability team.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in client-facing, high-accountability roles where trust, judgment, and accuracy directly affected client retention or capital decisions.
  • Relevant background in private markets, wealth management, alternatives distribution, or institutional client services.
  • Demonstrated commercial instinct in a relationship context, understanding how to navigate investor conversations with care.
  • Proven ability to build and lead programs end-to-end with clear ownership of outcomes.
  • Experience owning and improving structured client servicing workflows, including defining standards, tightening processes, and reducing errors.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, including maintaining current data and using it to drive decisions.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team, coaching on both process and judgment.
  • Experience coordinating multi-step projects across different functions.
  • Strong written communication skills with accountability for clarity and accuracy.
  • Operational discipline and relationship quality in equal measure.
  • Belief that commercial outcomes are achieved through strong relationships.
  • Ability to identify needs, propose solutions, and own the results.
  • Authorized to work in the United States of America.

Responsibilities

  • Lead ongoing relationships with current investors, ensuring consistent presence, accurate context, and genuine engagement between capital markets activities and reporting cycles.
  • Manage a portfolio of investor relationships, taking full accountability for engagement quality, follow-through, and sustained confidence.
  • Develop and manage a framework to identify disengaged, under-communicated with, or at-risk investors, including defining signals, thresholds, and re-engagement strategies, and execute this framework.
  • Independently handle complex or sensitive investor situations, resolving issues, resetting expectations, and protecting relationships without needing escalation.
  • Maintain complete and accurate investor context in the CRM to ensure history, preferences, and open items are always accessible and actionable.
  • Gain a working knowledge of each investor's history, capacity, timing, and goals, and surface relevant opportunities to the appropriate internal stakeholders to encourage reinvestment.
  • Design and own programs that ensure investor experiences are consistent, scalable, and measurable.
  • Identify areas where investor experience relies on individual effort or institutional memory and convert these gaps into structured, repeatable processes.
  • Own investor-facing initiatives from problem definition through execution, evaluation, and refinement.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Asset Management, Legal, Marketing, and Capital Markets to execute initiatives with clear timelines, defined owners, and resolved dependencies.
  • Ensure all programs have a defined audience, clear objectives, and measurable outcomes, revising or discontinuing those that are ineffective.
  • Identify recurring investor questions or confusion and work upstream to improve how information is presented.
  • Translate complex financial and operational information into clear, investor-appropriate language, ensuring accuracy.
  • Build and lead a growing Investor Relations team capable of delivering consistent, high-quality investor experiences at scale.
  • Set and model clear expectations for quality, judgment, and ownership for the team.
  • Develop team capabilities through ongoing feedback, process documentation, and direct coaching to foster independence.
  • Hold the team accountable for both operational standards and relationship quality.
