About The Position

Zoe Financial is hiring a Director of Investments to lead portfolio construction and analytics on its wealth platform. Zoe operates a multi-custodial TAMP used by independent RIAs to manage client portfolios across custodians including Apex and Schwab. Advisors select models from a marketplace of leading asset managers, while the platform supports rebalancing, trading, and account transitions. The Director will own the models offered on the platform, including how they are evaluated, custom models built for RIAs, and analytics supporting portfolio discussions. The role serves as the investment resource for advisors evaluating the platform, proposing portfolios to clients, or considering investment solutions. The Director will partner with trading operations, product, compliance, and sales to ensure portfolio solutions are sound, scalable, and clearly explained. This is a senior, hands-on individual-contributor role initially, with potential to build a team as the platform grows. The position reports to the VP of Investments and is based in New York, NY.

Requirements

8–10 years of experience in portfolio construction or investment management at an RIA, TAMP, asset manager, or OCIO.
Deep experience with model portfolios, SMAs or UMAs, and tax-aware transitions.
Confidence presenting portfolio construction to advisors and their clients.
Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data.
Series 65 and Series 24.

Nice To Haves

SQL or Python skills.
CFA charter or progress toward it.
Experience with rebalancing platforms and multi-custodial operations.
Familiarity with direct indexing and alternatives.
Experience at a growing fintech or startup.

Responsibilities

Manage relationships with model managers; conduct due diligence and onboarding; determine how models are reviewed and maintained; and document reviews in audit-ready diligence files.
Establish the model-review cadence, prepare investment committee materials, and maintain clear records of changes and their rationale.
Communicate relevant model, manager, and market changes to advisors in a timely, clear manner; develop advisor education and training.
Design and maintain custom model portfolios tailored to RIA and client needs.
Lead portfolio-related advisor conversations, including proposals, portfolio reviews, and sales discussions.
Join prospect meetings as the investment expert; explain how Zoe’s model lineup, portfolio construction, and transition analysis compare with prospects’ current approach; and create supporting sales materials.
Analyze incoming accounts and develop transition proposals that consider tax impact, risk, and fit.
Build analysis supporting model selection, portfolio fit, and performance discussions, and turn it into reusable team tools.
Work closely with trading operations, product, compliance, and sales to support scalable, well-explained portfolio solutions.
