About The Position

Louisiana Delta Community College is seeking a Director of Institutional Advancement to lead fundraising efforts and manage the alumni association. This role involves strategic planning, policy implementation, grant research, database management, and fiscal oversight to generate revenue for alumni programs and projects. The Director will also be responsible for promoting planned giving, managing campaigns, overseeing endowments, maintaining web pages, and managing the student scholarship process. This is an Unclassified - Administrative/Staff position with a competitive salary based on skills and experience.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or other related field.
  • At least three years of progressive advancement and development experience.
  • Excellent organizational, management, writing, researching, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong self-starter capable of establishing goals in partnership with the college and with the foundation board and in developing plans to attain those goals and to evaluate all efforts for continuous quality improvement.
  • Strong computer software experience including, but not limited to MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and financial management.
  • Ability to work independently and to work in a strong team environment is required.
  • Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Vice Chancellor and LDCC's Foundation Board to plan, implement, development fundraising efforts and to implement, develop, and maintain an active alumni association.
  • Plans and implements policies and procedures for all areas of institutional advancement.
  • Research and Apply for Grants that will support the mission of LDCC.
  • Develops and maintains the donor and business management databases and the alumni association membership database.
  • Responsible for the long-range, strategic vision, as well as implementation of goals, objectives, and policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining fiscal stability through budget preparation, control and implementation.
  • Overall responsibility for generating revenue to support alumni programs and projects, in accordance with LDCC's fund raising policies and guidelines and will be accountable for increasing the percentage of annual alumni giving, growing affinity programs, special fund-raising events, etc.
  • Participates in area service and civic groups to gather information and seek support of outside groups in charitable activities on behalf of the College.
  • Performs research seeking funding opportunities and prospective donors.
  • Collaborates with LDCC employees, business and industry partners, and other stakeholders in development of externally funded projects.
  • Provides for on-going promotion of planned giving opportunities.
  • Overseeing, managing, and/or planning advancement events.
  • Manages annual and special campaigns, corporate and foundation support, major and planned giving.
  • Responsible for tracking all endowments and reports earnings and award status to donors.
  • Develops and maintains the institutional advancement and foundation web pages.
  • Oversee student scholarship process.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chancellor and/or Foundation Board.
