About The Position

CAPS & Maple City is an organization dedicated to Supporting healthy, safe, and thriving children and families by providing quality, comprehensive services to all. The Director of Infrastructure is responsible for designing, standardizing, and overseeing maintenance and infrastructure systems across all organizational locations. This role shifts facility operations from a decentralized, site-based approach to a centralized, system-driven model focused on scalability, consistency, and long-term sustainability.

Requirements

  • Strong systems-thinking and process design capabilities
  • Ability to manage and prioritize work across multiple locations
  • Experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and performance oversight
  • Financial acumen related to budgeting and capital planning
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational support
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

  • Knowledge of facilities management, infrastructure systems, or building operations

  • Ability to perform considerable time sitting and reaching
  • Ability to lift at least 60 pounds and work as projects require

  • Regular travel between physical locations/sites required

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in facilities, maintenance, or infrastructure leadership, including multi-site environments highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce standardized maintenance systems across all organizational locations
  • Design scalable workflows, SOPs, and operational processes to ensure consistency and repeatability
  • Manage and consolidate vendor relationships, including HVAC, mowing, snow removal, and other contracted services
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and establish performance expectations and accountability measures
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year capital infrastructure plan
  • Track lifecycle and replacement timelines for major building systems and equipment
  • Manage maintenance budgets and exercise financial authority within defined thresholds
  • Provide recommendations and supporting analysis for capital expenditures and infrastructure investments
  • Establish and manage centralized prioritization of maintenance and infrastructure work across sites
  • Provide technical leadership and support for construction and renovation projects as needed
  • Oversee execution of maintenance work performed by site-based technicians and outside vendors
  • Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for complex or high-impact maintenance issues when needed
  • Maintain presence and leadership during critical incidents, escalations, and major projects
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards across all facilities
  • Other duties that support our shared work, as assigned
