About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Director of Human Resources to join our team in Arizona! Rehabilitation Hospital of Peoria (Peoria, AZ) is a specialized 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility located in the northwest Phoenix metro area. The hospital provides intensive rehabilitation services for patients recovering from neurological conditions, trauma, and orthopedic surgeries. With a focus on individualized therapy plans and measurable outcomes, the clinical team is dedicated to helping patients achieve maximum independence. Situated in the fast-growing Peoria community, the hospital offers a supportive environment. The Director of Human Resources is the primary individual responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function at the hospital. Uses his or her expertise and training in Human Resources functions to put in place and manage the implementation of all necessary Human Resources policies and protocols necessary for successful operation of the hospital. Integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in HR Management role required.
  • Workday experience is strongly preferred.
  • HR Certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred.
  • OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, collaborator, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
  • Strong project management, time management, and leadership skills
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle payroll, leave administration and employee safety processes
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding process.
  • Facilitate employee communications for monthly new hire orientation including coordinating and scheduling with employees and presenters. Conduct presentations on HR policies and procedures, wellness, and benefit plans.
  • Collaborate with recruiting team to ensure timely hires and onboarding.
  • Plan and lead employee engagement, recognition, retention and wellness initiatives.
  • Provide guidance regarding employee performance, coaching, corrective action, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
  • Process new hires and status changes timely
  • Ensure accuracy of employee data Workday
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
