About The Position

The Director of Human Resources is a leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management within the institution. This position plays a critical role in developing and implementing strategies, policies, and programs that support the college’s mission, vision, and values. The Director collaborates with executive management to align HR initiatives with the college’s strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR principles, practices, laws, and regulations.
  • Proven experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, and investigations.
  • Extensive experience in HR management, including at least 10 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience as Agency Benefits Coordinator with extensive use of Edison and other state & TBR benefit systems.
  • Strong understanding of workforce planning, talent management, and employee development.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for human resources that align with the college's overall goals and objectives.
  • Enforce HR policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Foster positive employee relations by addressing employee concerns and promoting a fair and inclusive work environment.
  • Develop workforce planning strategies to ensure the college has a qualified and diverse workforce. Oversee recruitment efforts, including job postings, applicant screening, and selection processes.
  • Implement talent management initiatives, including performance management, employee development, succession planning, and career advancement programs.
  • Administration of the college’s compensation and benefits programs, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Identify training needs, develop training programs, and facilitate employee development opportunities to enhance knowledge, skills, and performance.
  • Oversee the management and optimization of the systems used by HR, ensuring accurate and secure data management.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with relevant state and federal laws and regulations. Mitigate HR-related risks and maintain appropriate record-keeping processes.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance employee engagement, morale, and retention.
  • Develop and manage the HR department's budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
