About The Position

MDI NetworX is seeking a Director, Human Resources to lead the company's U.S. based HR function, with responsibility for HR strategy, policy, compliance, talent processes, employee relations, compensation and benefits, HR systems, and oversight of offshore-supported HR operations. Reporting to the COO, this leader will balance strategic HR leadership and decision-making with hands-on management of offshore support staff performing routine and transactional HR work. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a multi-state, multi-shore environment and can build clear processes, controls, and service expectations that strengthen both the employee experience and operational efficiency.

Requirements

5–8 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including experience at a director or senior manager level.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, with particular expertise in Illinois, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and Wisconsin, and the ability to apply those requirements to HR policies, employee relations, and workforce practices.
Experience managing offshore, outsourced, or distributed teams, ideally within a multi-shore delivery model.
Strong working knowledge of HR compliance requirements, including multi-state employment law considerations.
Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms such as ADP or similar systems.
Experience overseeing compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance management, and talent processes.
Strong process design and documentation skills, with demonstrated ability to build playbooks that enable effective task delegation.
Excellent judgment and discretion in handling sensitive employee and compensation information.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Willingness to travel occasionally for in-person collaboration, given the hybrid work arrangement.

Nice To Haves

Experience in healthcare, insurance, or B2B services industries.
SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR, or equivalent HR certification.
Experience building an HR shared-services or offshore support model from the ground up.
MBA, master's degree in Human Resources, or equivalent advanced degree.

Responsibilities

Own HR strategy, policy, and compliance across all jurisdictions in which MDI operates, including multi-state employment law considerations.
Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
Lead employee relations matters and maintain a consistent performance management framework.
Oversee compensation and benefits administration, including plan design and vendor management.
Own and maintain the HRIS platform and associated HR reporting.
Oversee payroll administration and related HR controls, ensuring accurate and timely processing in coordination with Finance as appropriate.
Serve as the primary point of oversight for offshore HR support staff, ensuring quality, productivity, and adherence to defined service levels.
Develop and maintain clear HR process documentation and playbooks to enable effective delegation of routine and transactional HR tasks.
Determine, in partnership with the COO, which HR functions are well-suited for offshore delivery versus those that should remain onshore.
Ensure offshore handling of sensitive HR (e.g., PII, payroll, compensation data) meets MDI's data security and compliance standards.
