About The Position

Reporting to the Dean of Multi-Campus Programs, the Director of High School Programs is responsible for providing administrative oversight for all dual enrollment programming, including dual enrollment course offerings and Middle College and Career Academy programming. Additionally, the Director oversees the High School Programs team, which serves as a one-stop shop for student services for all dual enrollment students. The Director also oversees the Perkins V and Rural Health Care Pathways Expansion Grant.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution
• Two (2) years of administrative or supervisory experience in an educational setting

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with system directors, high school principals, and the College’s academic deans to develop and implement all aspects of the College’s high school programs: Middle College, Career Academy, dual enrollment, dual credit, Career Day, etc.
• Develops and markets new programming options to provide early postsecondary opportunities to service area high school students, delivering presentations and developing appropriate marketing materials.
• Schedules and coordinates all University Parallel Dual Enrollment (UPDE) and Career and Technical Education (CTE) high school course options, serving as the primary administrative contact for system directors/superintendents, high school principals, counselors, and staff.
• Oversees the Perkins V Grant to ensure program strategies are improving the marketing, retention, graduation, and placement of NeSCC A.A.S. students, completing monthly reporting requirements.
• Oversees the Rural Health Care Pathways Expansion Grant to include grant benchmarks, budget, and events.
• Serves on related advisory boards and committees to develop and maintain relationships with high school/LEA administrators.
• Oversees the development of formal dual credit agreements with service area high schools on behalf of the College.
• Oversees articulation testing and the maintenance of resulting records.
• Organizes and provides oversight for the High School Transitions Council.
• Submits reports to TBR, Northeast State, the State Department of Education, and service area high schools as required.
• Oversees the management of curriculum alignment meetings between college and high school Career and Technical Education faculty to improve student success and support articulation.
• Provides oversight of dual enrollment processes, including Dual Enrollment Grant, CTE Dual Enrollment scholarship/grant opportunities, student registration/graduation, etc., including overseeing verification and certification processes for all dual enrollment students in the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation’s FAST portal.
• Coordinates with Admissions and Records to approve and award appropriate college credit through dual credit/articulation testing.
• Serves as the liaison between high school principals and academic deans to ensure adequate staffing for all dual enrollment course options.
• Directs the organization of and schedules planning, marketing, registration, and evaluation visits with 16 high schools.
• Provides advisement services to on-campus dual enrollment students including home-school students.
• Oversees business office services by creating and disseminating individualized invoice documents for dual enrollment students and ensures payment is received.
• Ensures all dual enrollment students meet prerequisite course requirements and coordinates placement testing as appropriate.
• Oversees the creation of dual enrollment classes in Banner, ensuring classes are built according to procedure and reflecting appropriate parts of term.
• Ensures adequate class coverage is provided in the event that a dual enrollment instructor is absent by supervising part-time temporary dual enrollment substitutes.
• Directs evaluation of dual enrollment programs as required by the College’s evaluation and assessment program.
• Participates in SACSCOC accreditation activities, including but not limited to, providing documentation of activities/programs offered, leading on-site instructional site tours, providing narrative content as appropriate, etc.
• Oversees updates to the Dual Enrollment Student Handbook as appropriate.
• Prepares and monitors the institutional budget.
• Supervises and evaluates staff: coordinators, administrative assistant, and temporary part-time substitutes.
• Completes strategic planning processes.
• Completes other duties as assigned by the Dean of Multi-Campus Programs, Assistant Vice President for Academic Programs, Assessments, and Accreditation, or Vice President for Academic Affairs.
• Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.
