The Director of GTMHCAC Behavioral Health is a management position responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and operation of a service component for Northern Lakes Community Mental Health Authority (NLCMHA). This role involves supervising NLCMHA employees who perform Access and Crisis Services, as well as Peer Supports and Jail Diversion services. The position requires substantial knowledge of applicable guidelines, reimbursement systems, contracting procedures, and professional knowledge of services for consumers with mental illness and developmental disabilities within the public mental health system. The Director operates with considerable independence under the general supervision of the Chief Clinical Officer, requiring demonstrated judgment and tact in dealing with the public and supervised staff. This role also involves monitoring expenditures to support the services under the manager's direct control. The Grand Traverse Mental Health Crisis and Access Center (GTMHCAC) functions as an NLCMHA Access and Crisis Center, and the Director is responsible for its operational, financial, programmatic, and personnel activities. Major responsibilities include directing day-to-day operations, overseeing the coordination and integration of all services within the GTMHCAC and diversion services. Behavioral health services are projected to include a crisis residential unit for adults and youth, crisis services utilizing a Living Room model of care, short-term focused crisis intervention (including mobile crisis services), and Access staff.
