About The Position

The Director of Growth Marketing is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for driving customer acquisition, sales performance, and brand visibility across all Sender One locations. This role oversees the Marketing Department—including digital marketing, communications, social media, retail buying, and content—and builds the growth engine that fuels membership sales, program enrollment, and overall revenue. This person is both a strategist and an operator: able to roll up their sleeves to execute campaigns, analyze performance, refine pricing, and partner directly with Gym Managers to strengthen sales processes and conversion funnels. The Director of Growth Marketing plays a critical role in advancing Sender One’s mission—to discover ourselves and connect with others through climbing—by connecting more people to our community through clear, compelling, and data-driven acquisition strategies.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of leadership in growth marketing, acquisition, or revenue strategy in a multi-site, consumer-facing business (fitness, hospitality, experiential retail, climbing, recreation, or related industries).
  • Strong revenue orientation with the ability to connect marketing investments to financial outcomes.
  • Hands-on operator who can lead strategically while also writing emails, building campaigns, running ads, and analyzing data.
  • Deep understanding of funnels, customer acquisition, pricing, promotions, and performance optimization.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with a clear, empathetic, and collaborative approach.
  • Passionate about climbing or community-based experiential environments, and aligned with Sender One’s mission and Core Values.
  • Creative, analytical, and adaptable; thrives in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Strong leader with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Open to feedback, growth-minded, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated success driving measurable revenue growth through marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Experience overseeing digital marketing, CRM, email campaigns, paid media, content strategy, and social media.
  • Experience with competitive research, pricing analysis, and promotions strategy.
  • Experience building or supporting sales enablement processes for consumer-facing teams.
  • Experience leading brand, creative, and design functions.
  • Experience with outreach, partnerships, or community engagement.
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics tools, dashboards, attribution models, and CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of design tools (Adobe Suite, Canva), website builders (WordPress, Squarespace), and email platforms (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, etc.).
  • Experience with Google Suite, Rock Gym Pro or CRM equivalents, and project management platforms.
  • Progressive leadership experience managing teams with diverse strengths and creative roles.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with operational departments and customer-facing teams.
  • 40–50 hours per week, with flexibility based on campaign cycles and project needs.
  • Required in-person presence at Sender One locations as needed (typically 2–3 days per week; more during openings or major initiatives).
  • Availability for occasional weekends and evenings for outreach events, campaigns, or launches.
  • Required attendance at weekly Executive, Marketing, Gyms, and cross-functional meetings.
  • Required attendance at bi-annual all-staff meetings.
  • Required attendance at quarterly board meetings.
