You will report directly to the Vice President of Benefits Administration and lead a team that will use our data warehouse/healthcare analytics tool and collaborate with external healthcare vendors to optimize our self-funded Group Health Benefit Plan. Our benefits department plays a critical role in supporting the overall associate experience and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field
  • 8 years of progressive experience in benefits
  • 5 years of experience managing others
  • Experience with self-insured healthcare claims within a data warehouse
  • Microsoft Office applications: advanced Word, Excel; intermediate Access
  • SAP HR Computer Application
  • QMF query writing (SQL)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration
  • 10 years of experience in health, welfare, or voluntary benefit plan administration and design
  • Advanced knowledge of benefits regulations (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Expertise in project management, financial principles, and quality improvement
  • Microsoft Office applications: expert level Excel, Advanced level Access
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Group Benefits Associate (GBA) certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic benefits initiatives
  • Research and implement benefits-critical projects
  • Analyze vendor proposals and pilot new solutions
  • Collaborate with legal and financial teams on contracts and modeling
  • Drive data warehousing and analytics strategy
  • Improve decision-making through enhanced business intelligence
  • Establish data governance and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with our Publix Technology Team as well as vendors to optimize data systems
  • Develop innovative benefits strategies
  • Lead cross-functional strategic projects
  • Provide expertise on emerging trends
  • Participate in external councils and summits
