About The Position

Clarkson College is seeking a Director of Graduate Nursing Program. This position directs the graduate nursing programs (MSN and DNP) curricula for Clarkson College and ensures compliance with the standards set forth by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). The Director supervises all the graduate nursing courses. This position directs and coordinates program aspects to include on-line education, monitors student and academic policies, and allocates adequate resources for the programs. This position supervises greater than thirty (30) faculty and will effectively manage job performance expectations of others, and department operations, including the budget. The Director of Graduate Nursing will oversee the graduate nursing program options, as well as coordinate instruction for greater than 400 students locally and around the country. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and will work in conjunction with all academic and service directors to support the mission and direction of Clarkson College. The director will ensure that all academic and student related efforts are upheld to the highest outcomes and maintain local, state, and federal compliance regulations and accreditation standards.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree required (PhD, EdD, DNP, etc.). If doctorate degree is not in nursing, then a Master’s degree in nursing is also required.
  • Current licensure in discipline in the State of Nebraska or compact state required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in higher education administration or previous management experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as faculty member in higher education required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with on-campus and/or online curriculum development and course delivery required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills needed with strong organizational and time management skills, a high sense of urgency, and attention to detail required.
  • Proficient in administrative systems such as employee information systems, assessment outcomes, budget tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, video conferencing, and employee intranet systems required.
