About The Position

Love Justice International (LJI) is a Christian nonprofit dedicated to combating human trafficking by disrupting it in transit. They are seeking a mission-driven individual to join their team. This role is described as more than just a job; it's a calling for those drawn to impactful work that demands sacrifice, boldness, and faith. LJI has been recognized for its organizational health and is looking for individuals who align with their mission and values. The Director of Foundation Relationships will be responsible for securing funding from private and public foundations to support LJI's mission. This position reports to the VP of Advancement and will be measured by revenue performance. Travel may be involved.

Requirements

  • Mature Christian faith and agreement with LJI's Global Value to “Abide in Christ”.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and agreement with how the Christian Gospel ministers to “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40) and guides the mission.
  • Agreement with LJI's Core Value “Be the Kingdom” (in mission execution and personal conduct).
  • Acknowledgment of LJI's Statement of Faith.
  • Passion for justice and advocacy on behalf of vulnerable populations.
  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful foundation fundraising and relationship-building.
  • Strong understanding of the grant-making process and foundation landscape.
  • Excellent communication and grant writing skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in relationship management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with grant management software and databases.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn to use AI tools to improve work and owned processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience preferred.
  • Existing experience with AI tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and target potential private and public foundation partners.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with foundation program officers, trustees, and decision-makers.
  • Develop compelling grant proposals tailored to foundation interests and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with program teams to gather data and information for grant applications.
  • Ensure timely and compliant submission of grant applications.
  • Oversee grant administration, ensuring reporting requirements are met.
  • Maintain records of grant applications, approvals, and rejections.
  • Communicate with program teams to track progress and outcomes of grant-funded projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for foundation partners, providing updates on grant impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with foundation partner commitments.
  • Develop and manage an annual budget for foundation fundraising initiatives.
  • Partner with the E.D. to set and achieve fundraising targets through foundation contributions.
