About The Position

Nassau Candy is a premier importer, manufacturer, and distributor of specialty confections, fine foods, and promotional products. We are currently seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Financial Systems & Reporting to join our Finance team in Hicksville, NY. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, ERP systems, and business process improvement. This role will serve as a key liaison between Finance, Accounting, Operations, and IT while leading financial systems initiatives, supporting NetSuite optimization, developing management reporting, and improving financial processes and controls. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with advanced data analysis, financial modeling, ERP administration, and project management skills. This individual must be highly analytical, organized, collaborative, and capable of managing multiple cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • CPA designation or active CPA candidacy preferred.
  • Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, financial systems, ERP administration, or a related field.
  • Strong technical accounting background with extensive knowledge of General Ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, and financial reporting.
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP required.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading ERP implementations, conversions, upgrades, integrations, or system optimization initiatives.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with: Power Query, Data modeling, PivotTables, Complex formulas, Financial modeling, Dashboard development, Report automation
  • Experience with financial consolidations, multi-entity reporting, and complex financial data analysis preferred.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to financial accuracy and data integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary Finance subject matter expert for NetSuite, supporting system implementation, optimization, enhancements, integrations, and ongoing financial systems initiatives.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and IT teams to evaluate business needs, improve workflows, and automate manual financial processes.
  • Design, develop, and maintain financial reports, management dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and executive reporting packages.
  • Develop and maintain advanced Excel-based reporting tools using Power Query, PivotTables, complex formulas, data models, dashboards, and report automation techniques.
  • Analyze large and complex financial data sets to identify trends, evaluate variances, improve reporting accuracy, and support strategic business decisions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of annual budgets, forecasts, long-range financial plans, and financial projection models.
  • Ensure financial reporting processes align with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal controls, company accounting policies, and applicable reporting requirements.
  • Support General Ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, financial consolidations, and multi-entity reporting.
  • Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, and Treasury teams to improve financial processes, reporting capabilities, and system efficiency.
  • Support financial analysis and accounting related to job costing and project-based operations.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional financial systems and process improvement projects, including project timelines, priorities, risks, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting accuracy, data integrity, system functionality, and operational efficiency.
  • Document financial processes, business requirements, internal controls, system procedures, and ERP workflows.
  • Develop and recommend scalable solutions that support continued business growth and evolving financial reporting needs.
  • Provide guidance and training to Finance and Accounting team members regarding financial systems, reporting tools, and related processes.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and participate in special projects as assigned.
