About The Position

The aligned Financial Aid Office of Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College is focused on providing excellent student-centered service while maintaining compliance with federal and state financial aid regulations. The Director of Financial Aid provides strategic leadership, administrative oversight, and regulatory compliance for all financial aid programs for Anoka-Ramsey and Anoka Technical College. The position ensures equitable access to financial resources, supports student success and retention, and upholds federal, state, and institutional financial aid requirements. The Director plays a key role in enrollment management, student advocacy, and cross‑campus collaboration. This position will have responsibilities at both colleges (all three campuses). Coon Rapids will be the home location for this position with some opportunities for teleworking up to two days per week.

Requirements

  • 3 years of progressively responsible experience in student financial aid administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective supervision and leadership, including directing and supporting staff.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with constituents in a diverse multicultural and multiracial community.
  • Knowledge of current federal Title IV, state, and local financial aid laws, regulations, and policies to effectively direct the programming and operations of the department.
  • Oral and written communication skills to effectively explain financial regulations to internal and external constituents and to develop, recommend, administer and evaluate policies and procedures.
  • Experience with current financial aid computing and data processing management systems (National Students Loan Data Systems (NSLDS), Common Origination and Disbursement (COD), and/or Central Processing System (CPS)).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Student Affairs or related field.
  • Experience using database software such as Integrated Student Record System (ISRS) or similar system.
  • Experience with Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG) Enrollment, Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate (FISAP) reporting, and Federal Student Aid (FSA) software or similar software.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering data and analyzing trends to improve processes and services.
