About The Position

Blue Sky Hospitality Solutions is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead the financial operations of the award-winning EnVue, Autograph Collection in Weehawken, New Jersey. This is a highly visible executive leadership role responsible for overseeing all hotel accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and compliance while partnering closely with the General Manager and corporate leadership to drive profitability and operational excellence. Located on the Hudson River with spectacular Manhattan skyline views, EnVue is a premier full-service Marriott Autograph Collection hotel featuring luxury accommodations, upscale food & beverage, banquet and meeting space, and a strong mix of corporate, leisure, and group business. The Director of Finance serves as a strategic business partner and plays a critical role in supporting operational decision-making, financial performance, and long-term business success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive hospitality finance experience
  • Previous Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Finance, or Senior Hotel Controller experience strongly preferred
  • Full-service hotel experience required
  • Marriott experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with hotel accounting systems and PMS platforms
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to influence operational leaders through financial insight

Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting and finance functions for the hotel
  • Partner with the General Manager to drive financial performance and profitability
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and executive reporting packages
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections
  • Monitor labor costs, productivity, payroll, and departmental expenses
  • Analyze financial performance and recommend operational improvements
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, General Cashier, and Payroll functions
  • Ensure accurate revenue reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintain strong internal controls and safeguard company assets
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial compliance
  • Coordinate internal and external audits
  • Review contracts, capital expenditures, and major purchasing initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, company policies, and GAAP
  • Develop and mentor the hotel accounting team
  • Work collaboratively with department leaders to improve financial results
  • Provide financial analysis supporting strategic business decisions
