About The Position

ABOUT ACF ACF supports and advocates for individuals and groups creating music today by demonstrating the vitality and relevance of their art. We empower artists through funding and resources and advocate for the meaningful impact living music creators have in the context of our world today. ACF engages a composer-centric community of artists, programmers, presenters, teachers, funders, and audiences, and provides resources, creative models, and advocacy to cultivate equitable opportunities for living composers to share their art and their stories. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, and/or Accounting, or a combination of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of five years of finance experience, CPA preferred.
  • Extremely knowledgeable in financial forecasting, accounting principles, and financial data analysis.
  • Experience in nonprofits required.
  • Ability to be highly organized, analytical, proactive, and highly adaptive in an arts focused work environment.
  • Discretion with sensitive/confidential information.
  • Orientation towards service and ability to creatively solve problems.
  • Wants to contribute to an organization committed to anti-racism and approaches their work with curiosity, courage, and self-awareness
  • Experience with CRMs, Salesforce preferred.
  • Experience using systems and tools such as Zoom, Google Suite, Slack, and Asana

Responsibilities

  • Managing all financial operation systems, records, procedures and filings.
  • Regular preparation and presentation of financial statements, in an accurate and timely manner, to appropriate departments of the organization, at standardized intervals.
  • Maintaining general ledger accounts and overseeing the weekly accounts payable function.
  • Managing bi-monthly payroll, including all employee benefits, HR records and procedures in coordination with external HR vendor.
  • Reconciling bank statements and monitoring cash flow and investment activity.
  • Coordinating the development of ACF’s overall budget, working with staff on annual budget preparation.
  • Coordinating with the development department to coordinate accounts receivable reconciliation, support on-time submission of grant proposals and the financial reporting for grants, and developing all appropriate budgets for proposals as required.
  • Work with and advise the external investment team on solid financial decision making to steward and grow ACF’s endowment.
  • Overseeing the annual audit process and providing audit schedules and documentation as needed.
  • Managing Innova Recording and ICIYL schedules, statements and payments.
  • Maintaining records for a complex set of multi-year Fiscal Sponsorships.
  • Oversee the work of external finance and human resource consultants.
  • Other duties as assigned.
