About The Position

The Director of Finance serves as the strategic financial leader for The Seagate in Delray Beach, Florida. This role is responsible for directing all property-wide financial activities while driving profitability, return on investment, and alignment with brand service strategies. The Director of Finance partners closely with the General Manager and executive leadership team to ensure financial integrity, operational excellence, and compliance with ownership, lender, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive hotel or hospitality accounting leadership experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and hospitality financial operations.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based applications and hospitality financial systems.
  • Advanced ability to analyze, interpret, and present complex financial and operational data.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accountability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced resort environment.
  • Flexibility to support extended hours during budget cycles, audits, and reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
  • Ability to move throughout the resort and access multiple departments.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry files or office supplies up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to travel occasionally between properties and attend off-site meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, supporting and embodying the company’s philosophy, culture, and brand standards.
  • Direct, manage, and oversee all accounting, finance, and internal control functions in accordance with GAAP, applicable regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate closely with the General Manager and hotel leadership team to respond to operational and strategic needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all terms and conditions of the hotel’s management contract and address discrepancies proactively.
  • Drive profitability by identifying opportunities for financial improvement through variance analysis, exception reporting, and business intelligence.
  • Ensure compliance with lender reporting requirements and all local, state, and federal tax filings.
  • Oversee the timely preparation and submission of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and corporate reporting packages.
  • Review and challenge forecasts and budgets prepared by hotel management to ensure realistic and achievable performance targets.
  • Safeguard all legal, treasury, tax, and financial documentation, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, permits, and licenses.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to protect hotel assets from loss, fraud, or misappropriation.
  • Manage insurance coverage to protect resort assets in accordance with management and ownership agreements.
  • Partner with the Human Resources Director to develop and maintain effective compensation, benefits, and labor cost strategies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team to optimize financial performance and enhance guest experiences.
  • Implement professional development, performance evaluation, and succession planning programs for finance team members.
  • Support capital planning, asset management, and long-term financial strategy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
