About The Position

Fort St. John Co-op is hiring a Director of Finance to lead the financial function for our organization. This leadership role is responsible for strategy-aligned financial stewardship, oversight of the Finance Team (Accounting, Payroll, and Administration), and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations. Fort St. John Co-op is a growing member-owned business with over 70 employees, proudly serving the Peace-Liard region for over 80 years. Requirements

7+ years progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial leadership.
5+ years experience managing multi-function finance teams (accounting, payroll, administration).
Ability to work on-site and maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and cooperation across teams.
Strong proficiency in financial systems, budgeting, and forecasting tools.

Nice To Haves

CPA designation preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Candidates possessing prior experience in JD Edwards would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Lead all financial operations including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Oversee Payroll and Administration functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Prepare and present financial reporting packages for the GM, Board, and Committees.
Maintain internal controls, risk management processes, and audit readiness.
Leads capital planning and financial performance analysis.
Ensure accurate tax, regulatory, and compliance submissions.
Responsible for leading the Finance team, including in recruitment, development & performance management.
Collaborate with operational leaders to align financial strategies with business performance goals.
