About The Position

RK Industries is seeking a Director of Finance to serve as a strategic partner to the CFO and Corporate Controller, supporting financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis across a multi-business-unit construction platform. This role is responsible for improving forecast accuracy, enhancing visibility into project and business unit performance, and driving data-informed decision-making across construction, fabrication, and building services operations. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in project-based finance and thrives in a fast-paced, operationally driven environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 8–12+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally in construction or project-based industries
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and performance analysis
  • Deep understanding of job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion accounting (PCM)
  • Experience supporting lender reporting and external financial relationships
  • Experience in multi-entity or multi-business-unit environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both financial and operational stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain monthly forecasting and long-range financial planning across multiple business units
  • Deliver variance analysis, and performance insights to executive leadership
  • Build and maintain robust financial models to support scenario planning and operational decision-making
  • Develop and manage balance sheet forecasts, including working capital and key drivers
  • Provide timely, high-quality ad hoc analysis to support evolving business needs
  • Partner closely with the CFO and Corporate Controller on budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy
  • Prepare executive-level reporting materials for leadership and external stakeholders, including lending partners
  • Support lender reporting, compliance packages, and financial communications
  • Provide insight into EBITDA drivers, cost performance, and margin trends
  • Analyze project profitability, cost-to-complete, and margin trends using job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion (PCM) accounting
  • Evaluate backlog, burn rate, and execution trends to assess financial performance and forecasting accuracy
  • Assess the financial impact of change orders, margin erosion, and project risks
  • Translate project execution timelines into cash flow forecasts and working capital impacts
  • Identify performance drivers across projects and business units and recommend improvement opportunities
  • Support monthly close review and financial statement analysis in partnership with the Corporate Controller
  • Deliver accurate, timely reporting packages for executive leadership
  • Ensure consistency and reliability of financial data across systems and business units
  • Develop and maintain short- and long-term cash flow forecasts
  • Analyze actual vs. forecasted cash performance and provide actionable insights
  • Support working capital optimization, including billing, collections, and project cash flow timing
  • Support compliance with GAAP, lender requirements, and internal policies
  • Assist with audits and required financial documentation
  • Coordinate with external financial stakeholders, including banks and lending institutions
  • Contribute to strengthening internal controls and financial governance
  • Build strong relationships across finance and business unit teams
  • Partner with operational leaders to align financial insights with project execution
  • Promote accountability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement
