About The Position

The Director of Finance is responsible for financial and business process controllership, financial planning and analysis, and support of the key business initiatives. They will contribute as a key member of the leadership team, and will be the group President’s business partner on development and implementation of the unit’s overall business strategy and initiatives to increase company revenues and profitability. As a key leader, the role will take a strategic view of the business, while looking for ways to improve the business results through financial and trend analysis, ensuring a focus on achieving profitable growth while optimizing JM’s competitive position. This individual will be a leader who puts programs, systems, and tools in place for continual improvement of the performance of the business, Finance function, and JM.

Requirements

  • 15 years of progressive financial/business experience with a large multi-site organization, manufacturing preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, Masters degree preferred
  • Financial leadership in a major subsidiary with dual reporting relationships
  • Ability to function as an effective business partner
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and act on areas/processes in need of improvement
  • Experience with managing remote employees
  • Ability to present to senior executives
  • Demonstrated success in attracting, developing and building high performing business teams including the ability to assess and develop talent and effectively provide feedback
  • Demonstrated knack in the following JM leadership attributes: Genuine, Passionate, Opportunity Maker, Positive Attitude, Open Minded and Integrity

Responsibilities

  • Drive financial performance throughout the organization by partnering with the business leaders for accountability/ownership of business decision financial impacts
  • Establish and drive success in achieving revenue, cost, income, working capital and cash flow objectives
  • Provide tools, resources, and financial leadership in assessing the financial viability of capital investments and new product development
  • Develop and manage processes, tools and discipline for month-end closing, monthly reporting and financial forecasts
  • Maintain an effective internal control environment throughout the business
  • Develop and implement processes to proactively identify gaps in performance and drive closure actions
  • Lead Annual Operating Plan process including process improvements
  • Support commercial operations including rebates, pricing, contracts, and incentive compensation programs
  • Manage a remote team that supports plant operations and drives cost side performance
  • Participate on CFO leadership team driving key JM Finance initiatives
  • Take the lead in financial aspects of identifying, consummating, and integrating business acquisition or divestiture opportunities
  • Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place throughout the organization (GAAP, Johns Manville policy, etc.)
  • Manage talent to ensure individual, team and business unit results are achieved
  • Actively develop individuals for future leadership roles within the organization
  • Build and manage a highly skilled and high performing team including stewardship of employee development programs
  • Drive development and execution of Annual Operating Plan and business/functional Strategic Plan
  • Active member of the (Business/Functional Leadership Team) and JM Extended Leadership Team
