About The Position

We’re looking for your leadership in rapid growth! We are entering our next phase of disciplined growth as part of Stagwell. We are looking for a Director of Finance who will install and lead the financial operating discipline required to scale responsibly. This role is not primarily accounting. It is commercial finance leadership. You will partner closely with the COO, founders, and executive team to strengthen pricing integrity, margin discipline, hiring-to-revenue alignment, and forecast reliability - while ensuring strong accounting and compliance foundations. The ideal candidate thrives in a founder-led agency environment and is comfortable operating within the standards of a public holding company.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of agency finance and accounting experience.
  • Experience working for and reporting into a public holding company (SOX compliance experience a plus).
  • Hands-on user of AI tools with a forward-thinking perspective on the future of AI-enabled finance teams.
  • Past experiences negotiating client pricing, contracts, and terms for a creative agency in the 50-150 person range.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence at multiple levels within an organization.

Responsibilities

  • COMMERCIAL FINANCE LEADERSHIP (Primary Mandate) Own pricing architecture and enforce margin guardrails across all client work.
  • Institutionalize weekly contribution margin review across top accounts.
  • Define and track billability economics by role and team.
  • Tie hiring decisions directly to forward revenue coverage modeling.
  • Serve as the financial counterweight in commercial decision-making.
  • Translate financial performance into actionable business insight for the executive team.
  • Strengthen forecast reliability and reduce EBITDA volatility under growth pressure.
  • FP&A & FINANCIAL STEERING Own the rolling revenue and margin forecast with clear visibility into risk and opportunity.
  • Distinguish between contracted revenue, work authorized, and probability-weighted pipeline.
  • Conduct client profitability analysis and proactively surface margin risks.
  • Partner with New Business and Integrated Production to ensure scopes are sellable and deliverable at target margin.
  • Develop scenario models to support strategic investment decisions.
  • Ensure revenue timing and resource planning are aligned to prevent emergency hiring or last-minute rescoping.
  • ACCOUNTING & COMPLIANCE OVERSIGHT Oversee accounting operations, close process, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure integrity of financial statements and internal controls.
  • Oversee treasury functions and Stagwell reporting requirements.
  • Maintain SOX compliance and audit readiness.
