About The Position

DGR Systems is seeking a Director of Finance, Risk & Compliance to build and lead the finance, risk, and compliance infrastructure for a growing IT solutions provider. This is a new, build-focused role where the successful candidate will establish foundational processes and policies from the ground up. The position requires a hands-on approach, balancing direct execution with team leadership, and a strategic mindset to support the company's growth and financial complexity. The role involves managing accounting operations, revenue recognition, cash flow, lender relationships, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and tax compliance.

Requirements

  • Experience personally driving the monthly close in a lean accounting environment, balancing hands-on execution and team leadership.
  • Experience in a business where capital, credit, or availability shaped company operations, with the ability to articulate practical implications.
  • Experience managing a bank or lender relationship, or preparing lender reporting.
  • A track record of building foundational, scalable, resilient processes and policies.
  • Fluency with contracts and insurance to identify and raise financial and liability exposure.
  • Judgment to recognize the limits of one's own expertise and the confidence to engage and challenge outside specialists.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with asset-based or borrowing-base lending, including eligibility, ineligibles, concentration, availability, and covenant reporting.
  • Background in a low-margin, high-velocity resale, distribution, or channel business.
  • Experience modeling services revenue in a business with transactions spanning multiple channels (hardware, subscription, professional services, etc.), understanding the impact on timing, margin, cash flow, and reported performance.
  • Experience making ASC 606 principal-versus-agent and gross-versus-net determinations, especially in subscription resale and complex scenarios.
  • Experience handling multi-state sales tax nexus.
  • Experience at a company undergoing a significant growth inflection.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting operations and lead the monthly close process, growing the accounting team.
  • Develop and manage revenue recognition policy across hardware, software, subscription, and services.
  • Ensure margin integrity by bridging quoted to realized figures and managing vendor incentives, rebates, and program funds.
  • Manage cash and working capital, including rolling cash forecasting, borrowing base preparation, and DSO/DPO management.
  • Manage lender relationships, the compliance calendar, and all lender reporting.
  • Oversee distributor and vendor credit programs, including terms, limits, utilization, and expansion.
  • Develop and manage the budget, rolling forecast, variance analysis, and unit economics by line of business.
  • Administer commission plans and ensure payment accuracy.
  • Manage the insurance program, including coverage assessment, renewals, claims, and broker relationships.
  • Maintain the enterprise risk register and conduct quarterly risk reviews.
  • Ensure tax compliance, including multi-state sales tax registration and filings.
  • Respond to financial and commercial aspects of client questionnaires, partner program requirements, and lender diligence.
  • Direct and evaluate work performed by external CPA firms and specialist advisors.
