Director of Finance & Purchasing

Lone Mountain RanchBig Sky, MT

About The Position

Help Shape the Business Behind the Experience Exceptional hospitality depends on more than what happens in front of the guest. Behind it is a strong operation, thoughtful financial leadership, and people who understand how all the pieces fit together. As our Director of Finance & Purchasing, you'll serve as the primary on-property financial and administrative leader for Lone Mountain Ranch. You'll work closely with the General Manager and leaders across the Ranch to provide the financial insight, systems, purchasing support, and operational guidance they need to make sound decisions. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can move comfortably between the big picture and the details—building a budget one day, working through a purchasing challenge with a department leader the next, and continually looking for smarter ways to support the operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, finance, purchasing, business operations, or a related field, including leadership responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with accounts payable, purchasing, and vendor management.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Sound judgment, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospitality, resort, or property management experience preferred.
  • Experience with Rippling, Sage Intacct, or comparable systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day financial and accounting operations, ensuring accurate records, reporting, and strong internal controls.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and financial analysis.
  • Partner with the General Manager and department leaders to provide financial insight and support sound business decisions.
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end processes with the corporate accounting team.
  • Lead Ranch-wide purchasing, vendor relationships, pricing negotiations, and significant operational and capital purchases.
  • Oversee accounts payable, receiving, and inventory coordination.
  • Manage key business records, including contracts, licenses, permits, and insurance documentation.
  • Coordinate technology needs and serve as the primary liaison with external IT providers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, increase efficiency, and responsibly manage costs.
