About The Position

The Director of Field Operations leads all field operations across assigned business units, ensuring safe, productive, and standardized field performance aligns with gross margin targets and strategic growth objectives. This role transforms field production into a predictable operating system by governing manpower planning, productivity standards, safety culture, equipment strategy, high standards of quality, and leadership development. The Director of Field Operations ensures that production execution consistently supports a culture grounded in safety, margin protection, schedule reliability, innovation, and owned-equipment optimization. This role provides weekly support with Estimating to offer essential input on production, equipment, bid schedules, and scope review. The Director of Field Operations will play a key role in the Regional Growth Plan ensuring long-term investments are made from an operational perspective as it relates to succession, scope expertise, and geographical coverage. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervision role
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and manage multiple large scale projects
  • Proficiency with Procore or similar construction software

Responsibilities

  • Reinforce safe work culture in day-to-day actions, become gold standard for client through: Improving field incident rates and review safety performance regularly, Ensure required safety training and leading field safety initiatives, Ensure policy/regulatory compliance and reinforce stop-work authority
  • Be proactive in avoiding quality issues, offer domain expertise, Track quality issues and corrections and ensure required quality training. Apply industry best practices and drive consistent quality performance. Analyze major quality failures and apply lessons learned broadly.
  • Own manpower forecasting and ensure predictable labor efficiency. Align project plans with staffing and financial expectations. Standardize d field execution and accountability. Use KPIs to track productivity and correct risk early. Review labor performance, overtime, and margin trends.
  • Optimize fleet utilization & operational planning, Align equipment with estimate and production needs, Take pride in owned assets and instill this mindset within the field teams, Reduce idle assets and waste
  • Build field strength and drive Open and Constructive behavior, Build a culture of continuous improvement, coaching, and mentorship. Develop field leaders and internal talent pipelines as well as succession planning. Set the standard for leadership accountability.
  • Represent field operations when collaborating with other verticals such as estimating, project management, and safety through: Provide field operation perspective in executive client discussions. Resolve high-risk field issues alongside other directors and vice presidents.
  • Validate daily logs are completed on all jobs including any applicable incident reports. Provide mentoring and coaching to the field supervision teams to ensure F&B log/reporting standards are followed by all. Conduct performance reviews for direct reports and ensure training and development needs are identified. Collaborate with the Director of Project Management and Business Development Teams to support initiatives and opportunities.
