About The Position

Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish and School in Beverly Hills, Michigan, is seeking a passionate and committed Director of Faith Formation to lead and grow the parish’s faith formation efforts. This individual will be a practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of Catholic teaching, proven leadership abilities, and a desire to foster lifelong discipleship among parishioners of all ages. The Director of Faith Formation will work collaboratively with parish and school leadership to cultivate a vibrant culture of faith and evangelization through comprehensive formation programs for children, youth, and adults.

Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church and committed to the mission of evangelization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, pastoral ministry, education, or a related field.
  • Certification in catechetical leadership or diocesan formation programs.
  • Strong knowledge of Catholic theology, doctrine, and parish life.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and program management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, parish and school staff, volunteers, and families.
  • Knowledge of safe-environment policies and child protection requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in catechetical ministry, education, parish ministry, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee parish faith formation programs, including: Family Faith Formation, Adult Faith Formation, Sacramental Preparation, Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)
  • Collaboration with the parish school on faith formation initiatives
  • Recruit, train, support, and evaluate catechists, volunteers, and program staff.
  • Ensure all faith formation curricula and programs are aligned with Catholic doctrine and the requirements of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
  • Collaborate with clergy, parish staff, school administration, and volunteers to promote and strengthen faith formation opportunities throughout the parish community.
  • Plan and coordinate sacramental preparation programs, retreats, special events, and other formation activities.
  • Maintain accurate records related to enrollment, attendance, sacramental preparation, and program outcomes.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, resources, and program materials.
