About The Position

The Amelia Concours, Greenwich Concours, Motorlux, and California Mille are not ordinary events; they are experiences that live in the memory long after the last car leaves the field. The hospitality delivered is a significant part of why. From private collector cabanas and intimate curator dinners to large-scale luxury guest programs where every detail is felt before it is seen, Hagerty hospitality operates at a standard that very few organizations can match. As the Director of Hospitality, you’ll hold that standard personally with your creative vision, technical mastery, and storytelling instinct to keep pushing it further. This is not a role for someone who executes from a template or waits to be told what the experience should feel like. We want someone who walks into every venue and immediately starts building the world it could become. If that is how your mind works, we want to talk.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in luxury event production, high-end experiential hospitality, or premium event design, with a portfolio demonstrating consistent delivery at the luxury level across multiple brands, markets, and venue types.
  • A proven world builder whose work creates an experience with a beginning, a middle, and an end that guests feel even if they cannot name it.
  • Deep expertise in luxury aesthetics and event design including furniture, fabric, custom fabrication, floral, and lighting, with the ability to translate a creative vision into a physical environment that feels inevitable rather than assembled.
  • Hands-on experience developing banquet event orders and directing food and beverage programs with premium catering and culinary teams, including menu tastings and culinary direction.
  • Strong, established vendor resources across the luxury events space, built over years of operating at this level.
  • Experience across multiple luxury markets, ideally including automotive lifestyle, fashion, art, yachting, or ultra-premium hospitality.
  • A natural storyteller who can articulate a hospitality vision clearly to their team, vendors, and senior leadership.
  • Someone who thrives in a close creative partnership with senior leadership, brings a strong point of view, and genuinely enjoys the back-and-forth of building something great together.
  • Proven people-leadership with the ability to develop and hold a team to a high standard without micromanaging.
  • The presence and confidence to own the Hospitality pillar fully while staying deeply connected to the VP's vision and bringing real creative energy to that relationship every day.
  • The resilience and composure to lead through live event pressure, make real-time decisions under difficult conditions, and bring steady energy to a team looking to them for direction.
  • Someone who actively wants to work cross-functionally and sees the whole event as their responsibility, not just their department's piece of it.
  • Proficiency in Asana or comparable project management tools, with the instincts to manage multiple events simultaneously without losing detail or momentum.
  • Someone who genuinely thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and has the track record to prove it.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, guest experience, and the collector car and automotive lifestyle world.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Co-create the hospitality vision with the VP of Events & Experiences, bringing your own creative perspective and building collaboratively toward experiences that are bolder and more distinctive than either of you would produce alone.
  • Build worlds, not just spaces. Every environment you create should tell the Hagerty brand story with a narrative arc that is intentional, immersive, and unmistakably ours.
  • Bring a sophisticated design eye and a storyteller's instinct to every space, including furniture, fabric, custom fabrication, floral, lighting, and spatial flow.
  • Direct culinary vision for each event, working closely with catering partners on menu development, tastings, presentation standards, and service style that reflect both the luxury positioning and the personality of each event.
  • Develop and curate gifting programs that feel personal and considered, chosen specifically for the Hagerty guest rather than pulled from a catalog.
  • Know where to source high-end custom fabrication, specialty rental, and unique vendors no one else is using, and bring those discoveries to the portfolio before they become trends.
  • Stay deeply connected to what is happening at the highest levels of luxury experiential globally and translate those ideas into the Hagerty context.
  • Own end-to-end execution of hospitality programming across all Hagerty events, from initial concept through on-site delivery and post-event wrap, with full accountability for every outcome in between.
  • Develop and manage detailed banquet event orders for all food and beverage programming, ensuring every partner is working from a document that leaves nothing open to interpretation.
  • Manage the full hospitality production timeline across multiple events simultaneously, keeping every detail on track without losing the creative thread that makes each event distinct.
  • Lead site inspections and venue walkthroughs with both a creative eye and an operator's mind, translating a raw space into a fully realized, executable plan.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage high-end vendor relationships across all hospitality categories, leveraging strong established vendor resources to move quickly and access the best partners in the market.
  • Deliver white-glove execution on-site, maintaining the standard when things get complicated and making real-time decisions without losing composure or quality.
  • Design and deliver hospitality programs for Hagerty's most discerning guests, creating moments that feel personal, seamless, and entirely specific to the Hagerty world.
  • Practice anticipatory service at every level, reading what guests need before they ask and building the programming and environment details that make every person feel genuinely looked after without the effort being visible.
  • Work closely with the Manager of Event Operations & Guest Experience to ensure pre-event communications, VIP briefing documents, and logistics are fully aligned with what will be delivered on the ground.
  • Develop tiered hospitality programming that serves multiple guest audiences appropriately, with each tier feeling intentional rather than a lesser version of the one above it.
  • Ensure every guest touchpoint, from the first piece of wayfinding to the last moment of departure, reflects the same level of craft and intention as the event itself.
  • Mentor an established team of talented hospitality professionals and lead them with a high creative and operational standard, building on the strong foundation already in place.
  • Foster a culture where no detail is too small to matter, new ideas are welcomed and challenged in equal measure, and the guest experience is always the first and last consideration.
  • Model composure, decisiveness, and high standards on-site and bring your team up to that level through presence and direct coaching rather than instruction from a distance.
  • Lead honest post-event evaluations that celebrate what worked and identify what to do differently, creating a culture of continuous improvement that makes every event stronger than the last.
  • Develop your team's capacity to run events independently, so the department's quality does not depend entirely on you being in the room.
  • Own and manage the hospitality budget across all events, building from the ground up, tracking in real time, and surfacing variances early with solutions already in hand.
  • Bring strong, established vendor resources to the role from day one and deepen those relationships over time, ensuring Hagerty always has access to the best partners across fabrication, catering, floral, gifting, and specialty services.
  • Lead vendor negotiation and hold partners accountable to timeline, quality, and brand standards in a way that strengthens the relationship rather than straining it.
  • Know where to invest for maximum guest impact and where to find efficiencies that do not touch the experience.
  • Complete post-event financial reconciliations and bring the learning back to the team in a way that makes the next event smarter.
  • Show up as a genuine peer and thought partner across all three event pillars. The best ideas for any event should be able to come from you regardless of which pillar they touch.
  • Work closely with the Directors of Event Production and Operations to ensure hospitality programming is fully integrated into the broader event plan, with no gaps between what is promised and what is delivered.
  • Partner proactively with the Commercial Partnerships liaison to ensure sponsor activations within the hospitality environment feel seamless and additive rather than imposed.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on how hospitality spaces and guest moments are captured and promoted across Hagerty channels.
  • Bring hospitality's point of view into cross-functional conversations early and often, advocating for the guest experience as a strategic priority across every department.
  • Use Asana and project management tools consistently so the hospitality team's work is always visible and accessible to the broader Events organization.
