About The Position

The main purpose of this position is to manage the Environment of Care (EOC) as it relates to personnel, materials, equipment and the physical environment for approximately 250 patients and residents; 700 staff, volunteers, and visitors in collaboration with the Director of Performance Improvement & Pt. Safety, COO, and Maintenance and Safety Committee. This position will oversee and monitor all Environment of Care (EOC) and Life Safety activities including identifying problem areas, devising and implementing solutions for a facility with 300 acres, 20+ buildings and 12 patient care units. This position directs the emergency planning and management for the hospital in collaboration with the county and state in accordance with their guidance.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling, or a related field.
  • Six years professional experience in health services.
  • Three years of the professional experience must have been in Health Services professional clinical or administrative services in areas other than Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities or Addictions.
  • Two years of the professional experience must have been at the managerial or supervisory level.
  • Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master’s degree or a Doctorate degree in a health or human services field from an accredited college or university for up to two years of the required general experience.
  • Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus an additional year of professional experience in health services for the required education.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Health Services Administration specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

  • Experience maintaining health and safety compliance according to Joint Commission Standards
  • Experience developing and operationalizing all planning, training and exercising related to emergency management activities
  • Experience maintaining up-to-date information on current products used throughout the facility for Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) compliance
