Director of Enterprise Resource Planning

ALLY BUILDING SOLUTIONSOrlando, FL

About The Position

Ally Building Solutions is implementing Acumatica as its enterprise ERP and CRM platform, with a third-party consulting partner leading the initial design and build. The Technical Product Manager – ERP/CRM will join the IT team to partner with that implementation, take ownership of the platform at go-live, and lead its long-term operation, evolution, and support across the business. This role serves as the single point of accountability for the Acumatica solution—owning configuration, role and security management, end-user support, training, integrations, upgrades, vendor management, and the multi-year roadmap. The person in this role will partner closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and other business stakeholders, and over time will build and lead a small team of ERP/CRM analysts to scale support across the organization. What success looks like: A stable, well-governed, well-adopted Acumatica platform that demonstrably improves how Ally Building Solutions operates—measured by user adoption, business process efficiency, system reliability, and successful delivery of the platform roadmap.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Acumatica (administration, configuration, and/or implementation). This is a must-have.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Accounting, or a related field; equivalent professional experience considered.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing, supporting, or owning a major ERP platform end-to-end.
  • Strong working knowledge of core ERP business processes: financial accounting (GL/AP/AR), order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and inventory/distribution.
  • Experience writing functional specifications, process documentation, training materials, and test plans.
  • Familiarity with ERP integration patterns: REST/SOAP APIs, EDI, file-based interfaces, and middleware concepts.
  • Demonstrated project and stakeholder management capability across business and technical audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to lead training sessions and present to executives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; comfortable operating with ambiguity and competing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Acumatica certifications (e.g., Acumatica Certified Administrator, Application Consultant, or Developer).
  • Experience with Acumatica Construction Edition and related construction/building-products business processes.
  • Prior experience in the building products, manufacturing, or distribution industries.
  • People management experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management of a small team.
  • Experience with reporting and analytics tools commonly paired with Acumatica (e.g., Power BI, Velixo, Acumatica Generic Inquiries and Report Designer).
  • Working knowledge of SQL and the Acumatica customization framework (Acumatica Framework / Acuminator), or comparable low-code/extensibility platforms.
  • PMP, ITIL Foundation, Scrum, or other relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary internal counterpart to the third-party Acumatica implementation partner throughout design, build, configuration, testing, training, cutover, and hypercare.
  • Participate in design sessions to ensure decisions align with long-term operational supportability, scalability, and Ally Building Solutions' business needs.
  • Lead structured knowledge transfer from the implementation partner to internal IT and super users; ensure full documentation of configuration, customizations, integrations, and workflows.
  • Own cutover, go-live, and post-go-live stabilization activities, including triage of defects and rapid-response issue resolution.
  • Own day-to-day administration of the Acumatica platform, including Financials (GL, AP, AR), Distribution/Inventory, Construction Edition, and CRM modules.
  • Configure modules, screens, workflows, generic inquiries, business events, automation schedules, dashboards, and reports to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Manage user provisioning, deprovisioning, roles, and security policies; enforce least-privilege and segregation-of-duties principles.
  • Maintain master data governance standards (customers, vendors, items, GL structure, etc.) in partnership with data owners across the business.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and capacity; coordinate with hosting provider on infrastructure-related matters.
  • Operate the Acumatica support queue: triage, prioritize, and resolve end-user issues within defined service levels.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, SOPs, quick-reference guides, and a searchable knowledge base for end users.
  • Deliver training to new hires, role transitions, and during feature releases; cultivate a network of departmental "super users" to extend support reach.
  • Track and analyze support trends to identify root causes, training gaps, and configuration improvements.
  • Own the inventory, design, and operational health of all integrations between Acumatica and adjacent systems (e.g., banking, EDI partners, payroll, BI/reporting, customer-facing portals, e-commerce, productivity tools).
  • Define integration requirements, partner with developers or vendor consultants on builds, and oversee testing, deployment, monitoring, and error remediation.
  • Evaluate and recommend ISV add-ons and third-party solutions from the Acumatica Marketplace where appropriate.
  • Apply sound solution architecture practices: prefer configuration over customization; isolate customizations; document all changes.
  • Plan and execute Acumatica version upgrades on a regular cadence; review release notes, assess impact, and communicate changes to stakeholders.
  • Define and run regression test plans with business users; manage upgrade environments, dry runs, and production cutover.
  • Manage a structured change-control process for configuration changes, customizations, and integrations.
  • Manage ongoing relationships with the Acumatica VAR/implementation partner and any ISV vendors; hold vendors accountable for deliverables, SLAs, and quality.
  • Negotiate, manage, and track SOWs, contracts, hours, and project budgets in coordination with IT leadership and Procurement.
  • Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and other functions.
  • Translate business needs into clearly scoped requirements; communicate technical concepts and trade-offs to non-technical audiences.
  • Build and lead a small team of 1–2 ERP/CRM analysts as platform scope and demand grow.
  • Set clear objectives, conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews, and provide coaching and career development.
  • Foster a culture of customer service, accountability, continuous learning, and disciplined execution.
  • Maintain a rolling 12–24 month roadmap for the Acumatica platform aligned with business strategy and IT priorities.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify, prioritize, and sequence enhancements that deliver measurable value.
  • Communicate roadmap status, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs to the CIO/VP of IT and the executive team on a regular cadence.
  • Stay current on Acumatica product direction, industry trends, and emerging capabilities relevant to building products and construction.
