About The Position

The Director of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of the hotel, ensuring that all systems and equipment are functioning properly and that preventative maintenance programs are in place. This role involves managing both day-to-day maintenance tasks and larger capital projects to maintain the hotel's appeal. The Director will also be responsible for managing the maintenance staff, ensuring proper use and storage of tools and chemicals, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

At least 3 years of management or supervisory experience in a hotel.
Experience with HVAC, electrical, carpentry, dry walling, painting, plumbing, roofing, and landscaping.
Ability to perform in a high-paced environment with multiple tasks and deadlines.
Ability to effectively respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

Oversee maintenance of guestrooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program.
Manage capital projects and property rehabilitation.
Ensure the availability and proper organization of tools and equipment.
Ensure proper use and storage of chemicals and hazardous materials.
Ensure work is performed safely and efficiently.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) and other equipment.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
Lead, manage, and communicate information about capital projects and property rehabilitation.
Communicate with hotel department heads regarding maintenance needs and respond to internal requests.
Hire, train, evaluate, and lead all maintenance staff.
