We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Engineering to lead engineering operations across multiple food manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for developing and executing engineering strategies that improve plant performance, ensure food safety and compliance, and support company growth. The Director will partner closely with operations, quality, and supply chain teams while traveling regularly to support and align site-level execution.

Requirements

  • Develop and execute a multi-site engineering strategy aligned with company goals
  • Standardize engineering practices, processes, and performance metrics across all facilities
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain to support production goals
  • Lead capital planning and long-term infrastructure strategy across plants
  • Provide leadership and oversight to plant engineering teams across multiple locations
  • Build and develop high-performing teams, including plant engineers and maintenance leaders
  • Ensure consistency in maintenance programs, reliability standards, and asset management
  • Travel regularly (30–50%) to manufacturing sites to support teams and drive alignment
  • Lead capital project execution from concept through commissioning
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and ROI for equipment and facility investments
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all manufacturing equipment
  • Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Support automation, process optimization, and technology upgrades
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards, documentation, and best practices
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA, USDA)
  • Partner with Quality to maintain audit readiness and regulatory compliance
  • Support sanitary design and hygienic equipment standards
