About The Position

Fieldpiece is a privately held, global leader in professional HVACR tools and test instruments. We're known for developing innovative products that technicians rely on every day - and for investing in our people, our technology, and our future. Named one of the Best Places to Work in Southern California for four consecutive years, we're looking for talented people who want to make an impact while growing their careers. Great engineering organizations don't just build great products - they build exceptional people, scalable systems, and a culture where innovation thrives. As our Director of Engineering, you'll provide strategic leadership that enables Fieldpiece's engineering teams to develop the next generation of HVACR diagnostic tools and connected technologies. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you'll lead engineering managers and senior technical leaders while partnering closely with Product Management, Operations, Quality, and executive leadership to shape engineering strategy, strengthen organizational capability, and deliver innovative products that solve real customer problems. This is a leadership role first and a technical role second. You'll remain technically credible and help guide critical engineering decisions, but your greatest impact will come through developing your teams, improving how engineering operates, and creating an environment where innovation can flourish. This is a matrixed organization where your team will work on various projects. This position is in our Orange, CA office with an exciting move to Tustin, CA in 2028.
